Pop singer/songwriter Vania first came onto our radar after being featured in Du Tonc’s single “In My Mind” in 2018. Her sticky sweet soprano vocals created the perfect lead for their dramatic 80s inspired synth pop. Since teaming up with Du Tonc, Vania has shared a handful of singles and cover songs which show off more of her distinct sound. Delving deeper into her realm, she has returned to us with her latest single “Wonder” and her first ever music video.
Fans of Grimes will probably find themselves drawn to Vania’s haunting, off-kilter electronic pop. “Wonder” boasts an avant-garde approach to pop with nods to industrial and electro incorporated amongst the track’s delicate yet melodramatic feminine vocals. Like optimism in dark times, Vania’s voice shines through the shroud of electronic melodies behind her. Inspired by her stays in eating disorder treatment centers, Vania struggled to come to terms with being healthy while still suffering with disordered thinking. “Wonder” taps into that inner turmoil as Vania shares her feelings and offers resolution in song. “Wonder” is out now and available to stream or download here.
