The artist, producer, and songwriter known as Kalisway has been making waves in the industry all of 2020 since the release of her exceptional debut Cream EP back in April. Since then, the Toronto native has been hard at work at the follow-up project while also getting co-signs from fellow established crooners such as Brent Faiyaz along the way.
A few weeks ago, Kali resurfaced with yet another EP entitled Special K, a short but sweet 6-track exploration of her boundless blend of future bass, soul, R&B, and hip-hop that she describes herself as "music that feels like palm trees on a beach while the sun is setting". Her unorthodox, off the wall vocal delivery is a perfect compliment to her futuristic production, which can be best described as if Pharrell made a new-age funk band with Erykah Badu.
