After releasing his debut album 2001 in the summer, Fordo, the Milwaukee-born singer, songwriter, and producer, continues releasing music before the end of the year with his latest song "WHO ARE YOU." This track is fully self-produced, as mentioned on his Instagram, and Fordo plans to continue bringing back the early ‘2000s hip-hop into 2026.
In "WHO ARE YOU," Fordo sings about his frustration with a former lover who decides to come back, but it’s too late, as he has healed and moved on from this relationship. It’s understandable for him to be mad when he wanted the relationship to work out, only for this person to try to return once all the damage has been done. This is clear with lyrics, “You chose to break it off, you chose to leave. So let me recite your words and say, ‘I wish you well.’ Who are you to judge me? Who are you to care? Who are you to love me? Who are you to say ‘I can't move on, baby’? Don't do me like that. You were the one who left.”
Its clear there was and never will be a sense of closure, but regardless, Fordo has checked out and couldn't care less as he continues singing, “Time out, you don't get a check in, you fuckin' signed out. Go and lie to your friends, they gon' come to find out how you're so obsessed, baby? You're another fan by now.”
The Fordo this woman knew no longer exists because she killed that version of him, and a new Fordo is born. The woman is now a fan of him, and so will the listeners who tune in to this track and the rest of Fordo's music catalog.
