After first grabbing our ears with their dark street single "The Outbreak," the NY-based duo Revenge Of The Truence returns with a music video for their latest EP title track "H1N1." The release is the group's first video effort featuring plenty of hard-hitting streetwise raps over ominous boom-bap infused beats.
MuGGz and Tay Dayne get right to it with vivid imagery in their lyrics as they explore the grit and grime of the mean streets. From heavy artillery from cops, hustlers, and even ordinary people trying to live to see another day, any wrong move could lead to a quick demise. The video for "H1N1" is directed by the group themselves and centers on footage from the H1N1 outbreak of 2009 and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a bit of a heavy watch, but it's a poignant one as well as a grim reminder of where the world is at right now.
There’s a lot to dig into and digest throughout the EP’s six tracks, which combine beats from Endemic Emerald and bars with profound insights into the mechanics of the streets. Endemic is also the founder of No Cure Records, which released the project. Get "H1N1" on all DSPs here and the vinyl version of the EP here.
