As we approach yet another weekend in the lockdown season with absolutely nowhere to go, we might as well fill our ears with some brand new music across the Spotify-sphere. On the 55th edition of The Slice, we have more than enough sweet jam goodness to go round.

We start off with the classic boom-bap vibes from ILL EFFECT whose members DJB and PreciseMC flip lyrical gems while DJ Nameless Faceless cuts it up on the wheels. Emerging rapper Gaël teams up with producer Billa Joints for a solemn jam titled "MORE." Dungeon Family's CeeLo comes through with "Lead Me," a gospel-infused soul jam that aims to uplift and inspire us in these gloomy times.  Nigerian rapper Megzy The Riter's "Dat L" is inspired by his girlfriend's love for UK drill music and the classic Streetfighter games. Canadian rap veteran Len Bowen reflects on life and much more on the soulful track "The Breaks." The release also features singer Katya who wraps it up with an alluring vocal performance in the chorus. "REAL LOVE" sees Tay's brother Suté Iwar teaming up with fellow Nigerian singer AYLØ over a lo-fi surreal backdrop. Jhyve's sultry melodic performance on "Better" caught our attention. We close out this week's list with "Jupiter Jazz" by emerging rapper Paragon Don who delivers smooth silky flows over a head-nodding soulful backdrop.
