Australian duo REMI close out this week with their brand new funky single titled "Elevate" which serves as the perfect track to close up shop for the coming weekend. The light-hearted track is a mellow head-nodder that is built on lush funky guitars and groovy basslines that exude the classic Parliament funk vibes. Frontman Remi is totally at home on this track and delivers his verse with his usual bravado and carefree melodic flow urging the listener to sit back, kick off their shoes and just elevate. Producer Sensible J's work behind the boards on this one is superb as he also blends elements reminiscent of contemporary funk progenitors such as Georgia Anne, Dudley Perkins amongst others to craft the perfect jam to wind down to.
"Elevate" is the A-side to their double single release which also features the song "Get It Right." Both tracks give a toast to the pair’s astute chemistry that has landed them at the top of Australia’s hip-hop sphere, and the monumental body of work to come in the forthcoming album, Fried, which drops on Friday, April 24.
