TOME taps into the Nigerian go-getter mentality on "The Money"

Canadian-Nigerian singer TOME kicks off 2020 with this uplifting hustle anthem aptly titled "The Money." that serves as her first release. Flanked by an infectious afro-dancehall groove and soothing, layered instrumentation, the Montreal-born singer channels her Nigerian roots to the fullest on this mid-tempo jam.

The first verse is sprinkled with Pidgin English and melodic Nigerian lingo that serves as an opener. TOME is fully unapologetic with her thoughts as she points out the individuals who fail to lend their help. "The Money" serves as a form of self-encouragement for TOME and an outlet for self-reflection on all she has been through.

TOME spent most of last year touring with, award-winning mega Afro-beats artists, Wizkid and Mr. Eazi on their individual tours amongst other international performances. "The Money" is the first of many releases we should expect from her this year and an accompanying video is set to drop later on.
