Hailing from the U.K., Jordan Higo might not be a household name yet, but he’s certainly on his way to global status. In the hazy video for his latest signle “Ain’t Love”, Higo croons about being caught in a flurry of emotions whenever he crosses paths with a new crush.
The butterflies are instinctual but temporary. “Ain’t Love” alludes to the idea of being head over heels about someone without wanting the title of a relationship. The funky number, which Jordan crafted with producer/instrumentalist Link Lewis, showcases Higo’s smoky tone over the cascading sound of jazzy keys and synths. His smooth but raspy vocals feel like red velvet trimmed with barb wire.
