Veteran UK grime act Mercston just recently put out his debut album entitled Top Tier, a 16-track body of work that draws from his long lasting experience and diverse influence in the grime scene. Not the one to rest on his laurels, the Bow raised emcee shares the cinematic visuals for the title track which sees him working with his fellow East London emcees Devlin and the legendary Ghetts. Over a dark broody hard-hitting backdrop courtesy of Dot Inc, the trio each show the listener why they are at the apex when it comes to their penmanship and street-tested status.
The visual has a dark cinematic vibe with a heavy focus on the performances of the trio engulfed by a dark backdrop spliced with a story that follows the adventure of three unnamed youths. While it sounds straightforward, the ominous aesthetic seems to add some form of mystery to the legacies of these emcees. Mercston's debut features previous singles such as "More Life", released in early January, plus his collaboration "No Banter’" with good friend Wretch 32 last year. The project also boasts collaborations with Blade Brown, Louis Rei (WSTRN) and Giggs as well as productions from the likes of Scholar DJ, Merlin, and Rxwntree. Get it on all DSPs here.
