Deanna Devore’s new single “Lately” emits an overwhelming sense of sonic pleasure, from it’s subtle beats to its groovy soundscapes. Based in Chicago and Toronto, Devore has been making a name for herself for her work as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer. Her ability to write, perform and produce her own music, allows the singer to execute the exact sound she desires. Integrating downtempo electronic music, with traditional jazz elements and a heavy dose of R&B, Devore is concocting her own unique bend of music and it’s truly intoxicating.
Devore’s latest single “Lately”, which follows the release of her acclaimed EP half and half narrates the ever so relatable story of the ups and downs of a relationship. Sung by a mystery vocalist, “Lately” perfectly depicts an experience that we have all gone through at some point in our lives. Devore shares, “Lyrically I delve into the darkness and light of love and life”.
