Formed in Venice Beach, California, indie pop band The Mowgli’s return with their highly infectious new track “Wasting Time.” The bold release shines bright with oscillating beats, catchy pop melodies and dream-esque synths.
“Wasting Time” narrates the internal struggle for any kind of meaning, comparing dream paralysis with the repetitiveness of everyday life. Joshua Hogan reveals, “'Wasting Time' is a fun driving song about feeling stuck in a loop of the same old thing. We all want to do something meaningful, but sometimes it just feels hopeless.”
The Mowgli’s hope the empowering track will act as a reminder to keep on keeping on, even when times feel hard, sharing, “Sometimes, even when we try over and over, it seems like we’re getting nowhere. We want to hold ourselves accountable, but we don’t always find a solution. If you can keep your head up and believe in yourself through these moments, you will come out the other side much stronger, and you’ll feel gratitude towards those struggles.”
The five-piece consists of Joshua Hogan, Katie Jayne Earl, Matthew Di Panni, David Appelbaum and Andy Warren. Together, the band has gone through highs and lows, reaping the benefits of their success, whilst simultaneously struggling with the negative effects that come with life on the road. However, today the band stands stronger then they ever have before and the new music is a shining example. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for them.
