Known for her mix of indie-pop meets dance music, Luna Shadows has been remarked on EARMILK for being soulful and seductive and not much has changed since she shared with us her top track of 2016. Her latest single "practice" has been described by her team as not far off from the "omnipresent feels of a Drake generation." I guess post-Camp Flog Gnaw, it's safe to say she's making music for mainstream appeal. "practice" comes from her forthcoming debut album and speaks to getting "practice" in love through each and every relationship.
Layered between delicate vocals, soft piano riffs, and a budding melody, Shadows paints a picture-perfect tune one where she's able to lay out her feelings and commitment to true love. "Like all songs in this series, this song involves a breakdown or barrier in communication both in the digital and physical worlds but in the most literal interpretation, "practice" is an imaginary conversation with a bridge jumper," shares Shadows of the track. "The chorus is a sentiment that someone once expressed to me in a dark hour: that love is a process, something in constant refinement, something never damaged beyond repair, somewhere that you can always return. This message reached me at a necessary moment, and I wanted to forward it musically with the hope that it might reach someone who needs to hear it right now."
