Ursae reconstructs what’s been torn apart in ‘Trust’ [Video]

From his earnest songwriting to fierce falsetto, indie-electro artist Ursae is a unique blend of left of center pop. Revealing the new visuals for his unreleased song "Trust," the track narrates building yourself back up after you've been broken down and is co-produced by Jeremy McDonald. Showcasing his silky high-pitched tone gushing atop striking synths, the single is suggestive of Post Malone and Toro y Moi. A dimly lit barbershop, there’s something soothing about the video’s slowed down vibes.

The San Francisco native and Brooklyn based Ursae, also known as artist/singer Andy Campbell, is known for his skillful expertise as a producer resulting in intense glittering synths and dynamic 808s. With organic instrumentation and a fresh modern sound,  Ursae fuses a wide range of genres from R&B and pop to indie-rock.

Inspired by muses like SZA, Bon Iver and Japanese Breakfast, Ursae delivers his powerful story of self-empowerment. The songwriter admits, “I was feeling kind of lost and anxious – I'd recently finished school, Trump had just taken office, I was going through a sort of weird breakup. A lot of shit was changing and I had to figure out who I was gonna be and how I was gonna handle it. I was in a weird place at the time and I wanted to make sense of it by writing music that felt really bold and confident, and just be like, ‘fuck everything you've heard, this is me now’".

Ursae has performed with renowned artists such as Maggie Rogers, Cafuné and Hunter & Wolfe, as well as playing to sold-out audiences across New York City.
