British singer and songwriter, Tiana Major9 and Dreamville’s EarthGang have released a duet for the upcoming feature filming, Queen & Slim. The record is a smooth and soulful melody that sets a sweet vibe for film and music fans who look forward to the Melina Matsoukas directed movie. Meanwhile, “The cinematic video for “Collide” follows the trio through the desert as they lay soulful vocals about an irresistible lover.”
"I wanted the soundtrack for Queen & Slim to showcase the historical evolution of Black music, from its roots in blues and soul, to modern bounce, hip hop and R&B – much like we used to see in film soundtracks in the 90s,” says Melina. She adds, “We partnered with Motown because of their legacy within Black music. I am honored to have worked beside Ethiopia [Habtermariam, Motown president] and cannot wait for audiences to hear what each artist has created.”
“Collide” is featured on Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack which also includes contributions from artists like Lauryn Hill, 6lack, Vince Staples and Lil Baby amongst others.
