Snowsa is putting Connecticut rappers on the map. This week, the rising artist and producer has released the music video for her “Yank Riddim (Remix)” featuring Brooklyn’s Young M.A. Premiering on BET Jam’s, the WorldStarHipHop exclusive music video has gained over 1.5 million views in less than 48 hours. However, despite the upbeat feel we get from the visuals, the music video is a tribute to her late friend Zoe – who popularized dances like “The Yank” and Busta Rhymes’ classic “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.”
Quotable Lyrics:
[Verse 1: Young M.A]
Still doing numbers like a PIN code
And still bend the block like I bend hoes
Wrist on the rocks like The Flintstones
Back end looking like a zip code
You with ten n*ggas, I’m with ten hoes
And they all freak freak like a nympho
[Chorus: Snowsa]
And then I rock
Shorty said she seen me on the block, I hit the bop
Shorty said she seen me on the block, I hit the
Out your feelings, get up and go get 'em
This is the Yank Riddim, this is the Yank
Snowsa got a pretty interesting start growing up in New Haven, Connecticut in a traditional Jamaican household. As a result of often feeling misunderstood during her childhood, young Snow would write poems to express her emotions. Her ear for sound production was also sparked by her oldest brother who introduced her to 50 Cent and Dip Set. Now the drippy 23-year-old wordsmith is carving a name out for herself across the industry with unapologetic flow, vivid imagery and attention-grabbing music videos.
