London based artist Kwaku Asante releases a sticky-sweet, funk empowered single "Molasses." This is the first single from his upcoming debut project honeycomb.
Kwaku Asante introductory single "The Way That You Move" was released last year. Since then, he has collaborated with impressive artists such as Burna Boy and Jorja Smith. He has also showcased excellent stage presence touring with artists like Amber Mark and Jay Price. Now, he is artfully building his own discography starting with "Molasses."
Kwaku's velvet voice laces the electronic keys complementing the perfect hi-hat hits from the very beginning. The lyrics to "Molasses" describe a love interest who's characteristics and personality reminds Kwaku of the dark, sweet syrup. He successfully blends neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop culture while he chronicles his journey of love and companionship.
