Matt Muse is a Chicago based artist who has made quality leaps and bounds over the past few years. Matt is involved with the famed writing and poetry organization, Young Chicago Authors as a teaching artist. The same organization that helped popularized acts such as Mick Jenkins, No Name, Jamila Woods and Chance The Rapper. He released his critically acclaimed debut album Nappy Talk last year. Now Matt Muse is back with the single "MYSELF" featuring Pivot Gang's Joseph Chilliams and Mon'Aerie.

"MYSELF" is presented as a dedication to self-love. Matt isn't against being a relationship however he has his priorities straight as he declares "First I gotta love myself!" The track has a mature vibe to it with a lesson learned message. All this time, Matt as been focused on what he lacks and his flaws it caused self-doubt. "MYSELF" serves as an epiphany that he was missing all the good things about himself and now he realized that he has to celebrate them. The silky smooth instrumental employs a sweet clap-along beat with beautiful background vocals from Mon Aerie and an interesting assisting verse from Joseph Chilliams. Matt Muse new EP Love & Nappyness comes out August 9th.
