Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Tekitha has been on her solo grind for a while now, and has since released a new LP titled Week Of The Phoenix. In support of the project, she delivers the visual treatment for the lead single "Emotional," which features NY emcee/Radio host Torae.
Far from being green in the game, Tekitha's unique style goes without saying once you hit the play button. "Emotional" is not really a far cry from her indelible contribution to Wu-Tang ( "Impossible," "Heaterz" etc.) but really shows her versatility on another level. Backed by multi-award winning producer and singer/songwriter Ahmed Soultan's genre-bending backdrop, Tekitha delivers a soul-laden but edgy performance while Torae adds a little bit of grit into the mix. The visual also sticks to the exotic atmosphere of the song and follows Tekitha in different striking locations.
"Emotional" is taken from her new LP Week Of The Phoenix, which sees her working entirely with Ahmed Soultan, creator of the style "Afrobian," progressively blending African and Arabic elements with a contemporary edge. Get the new single "Emotional" here.
