Bad Honey produce glittering melancholia on "Somewhere Blue"

The sugary-sweet South London duo Bad Honey share yet another blissful, soul-injected triumph in the form of the idyllically written "Somewhere Blue". The single follows the previously EARMILK praised "Weak When You're Near".

Displaying their formulaic jazz-slash-soul hybrid, the pair continue their trajectory of lush melodies and honeyed vocals. With hazy synth patterns and tenderly addressing the feelings of isolation, "Somewhere Blue" explores Bad Honey's ability to create inimitably intricate ballads.

Both haunting yet warming, the glittering melancholy throughout the track enables its listen to get lost among the soothing sounds. Whilst the track was originally inspired by the documentary 'Blackfish' and the impact that humans have on other surrounding species, the track later evolved into a piece which connects on a more personal note. Describing the need to escape certain unhomely situations, "Somewhere Blue" also "delves into the feelings of living in a place you don't belong".

Receiving praise throughout the industry, Bad Honey's smooth as caramel vocal tones and silky melodies are going continue to gain them recognition. With their well-polished amalgamation of classic soul with a light sprinkle of jazz, the duo's production of dulcet sounds are soon to be iconic.
