Some musical acts are meant for summer. Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers fit that characterization in name alone and their music follows suit with high energy and warm vibes. After the release of their album Paper Castle earlier this year, the Michigan group is back with a music video for “Evening Coffee,” premiering today on EARMILK. In the video directed by Dave Suchanek and Alec Aretakis, the band bursts with energy and color in a custodian’s fantasy of an all out party in a roller skating rink.
The rink is an ideal backdrop for the infectiously upbeat energy on “Evening Coffee” and the lavish costumes and glittery lighting provide a fitting visual counterpart to the song’s danceable grooves and Hertler’s engaging vocals. Jason Combs’ propulsive bass lines jump out of the mix, giving the track a taste of old school boogie while Aaron Stinson’s angular saxophone lines give the band originality. Irresistible beats mixed with concise arranging and superb musicianship make for an impressive project from Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers and one that is perfectly suited for the sunny vibes of summer.
