Josh Herring’s single “She’s Coming for You” is the latest addition to my softer, low-key summer playlist. The Birmingham native croons about the longing for the nostalgic season, personifying it as the “she” in the track’s title. Now based in Copenhagen, Herring brings beautiful perspective and instrumental strength to his latest folk release.
The second single off upcoming debut album And Everyone, “She’s Coming for You” is guided along by simple and soothing piano, with strings emerging in the song’s second half. It considers themes that arrive alongside nostalgia: the simplicity of youth and summer days forever fleeting. The single is an ode to the golden years. As a former band member of Steady Hands, Herring is currently working through his masters degree in music creation. “She’s Coming for You” follows his debut singles “Radio” and “Abraham Lincoln”, both of which garnered attention from BBC Introducing West Midlands. “She’s Coming For You” offers a slower pace to the usual chart topping songs of summer.
