Maceo Plex mixes a haunting cocktail of beauty and grace 'When The Lights Are Out'

Known under a medley of names whilst reigning strong under his techno moniker, Maceo Plex returns to his own Ellum Audio with a new cocktail dance concoction both hauntingly sound and oozing with grace. When The Lights Are Out comes in a three-track package, backed by an instrumental version and a Late Night Mix.

His first outing since his "Mutant Tones" in March, Plex continues to refine his mixology with spellbinding productions in When The Lights Are Out. A ready-made anthem, the original number clocks in just under seven minutes, serving up a deadly techno and house trip that is masterfully melodic. A base conjured with his signature elements, Plex lights up the track with droning bass and whirring synthetic drum patterns amidst tinkling bells for a smooth rendition. Vocals flit in and out for a refreshing mid-tempo pace, cinematic in nature and adding lasting emotions to the groove. Aside from the instrumental, the Late Night Mix adds an even more driving and electrifying force to the track, glossy synths illuminating the drums with effortless sophistication.

The full release is out now on both Ellum Audio and Ministry of Sound
