Reading singer-songwriter Tom Dunne blends a modern British R&B melody with vibrant, dreamlike ambient production through the release of his second single "VIOLET", via his own label MilkRaid.
According to Dunne, "The track explores the fragility of modern relationships and the obstacles that come with it." Having spent the last touring with producer SG Lewis, this latest single channels his own intimate emotions longing for home, stability from home. Though the track starts off with strong soulful vocal work from Dunne, the overriding synth portions come center stage while the haunting vocals in the backdrop add an element of mysticism. Dunne's vocal range is unmatched, and the singer gives listeners a peak of it at various times throughout "VIOLET". It's both sultry and beautifully hypnotizing but once it syncs up with that complex synth work, then it's game over, we're in love.
