After teasing us with singles and collaborations with names like Russ, Stonebwoy, Collie Buddz now presents his third full-length project titled 'Hybrid'. The 10-track EP is produced by Buddz himself and is chock full of quintessential reggae jams, fiery trap bars, hip-hop melodies, and a wide variety of other musical elements.
He opens up the LP with the previously released singles "Bank" featuring B. Young and Russ and "Love & Reggae" which sets the mood but things get more interesting as we go along. To cover all bases on this project, he taps into a myriad of styles – from the afro-pop infused "Bounce it" with Ghana's Stonebwoy to the trap vibes of "Callaloo" with Dizzy Wright.
The project delivers a well-rounded polished sound all the way through. It's a release that doesn't seem rushed to push out singles but rather an evolution of the artist exploring new sounds. The collaboration we didn't expect is the high energy and uplifting "Everything blessed" with Tech N9ne who comes stomping the yard with his double-time flow. For the core Reggae fans, Buddz delivers in excess on bangers like the herb advocating "Legal Now", the contemplative "Show Love" which all zoom the project to the closing track "Time Flies" which also featured Russ.
