Oscar Jerome continues to stand out in a U.K. music scene chock full of incredible young talent. The London artist has been putting out a steady stream of impressively original music the past few years and his latest splash comes in the form of a stunning new video for his single “Misty Head / Sunny Street.” The video release arrives with the news that Jerome will be joining saxophone maestro Kamasi Washington for a U.K. tour run later this month, and will be headlining his own largest show to date in November at London’s Heaven.

Today’s focus, though, is the captivating new video directed by Sam Rigal, which features Jerome’s brother Alfie Laurence, A.K.A. the drag performance artist Moth, whose work confronts notions of gender, beauty, and the Other. Jerome commented on the importance of including Moth, saying, “I hope we can challenge perceptions of artistic self-expression and gender expression and hopefully open some people’s eyes, as my brother has done for me.” The results are magnificent as Jerome’s stylish throbbing funk provides a fitting soundtrack for Moth’s mesmerizing visuals. The project provides another remarkable example of Jerome’s continued effort to chart his own path in the industry, one that appears primed to reach new heights.
