Samaran only started releasing records under that moniker in 2017, but the revered French producer has been making waves with his singular take on house sounds around the world. His latest release "God Money War" features the similar signature soft synth stabs.
Samaran slowly builds up the momentum with filtered analog synth sounds, delicate white noise, and sultry vocal chops right from the beginning. Roland’s classic TR-909 drum patterns anchor the whole track in place as he takes his time traversing incessant stabs, creating a dusty underground vibe. The overall aesthetic is raw, yet he manages to bring out a sophisticated layer of French touch that can only come out of Paris. The track conveys an unusual sense of beauty growing on the inhibited. In his own words, "God Money War" is "built to progressively bring you from a raw chopped intro to a filtered rhythmic pattern, always driven by some heavy 909 beat and house vibes."
