Coming out of New Jersey is 18-year-old singer-songwriter Baker Grace, who has been making a strong introduction since she got her start at just 14-years-old, linking up with Scott Harris (a hit-making songwriter and producer known for his work with pop artists like Shawn Mendes and The Chainsmokers). Her latest single "Handcuffs" is an honest and stripped back performance that goes deep into a reflection on humanity and her place in it.
Speaking about the track, Grace shares, “Handcuffs is about a loss of innocence. Realizing that I’m not sheltered from the dangerous parts of humanity, I felt helpless and unsafe at a time where random violence acts were blasted on screens and seemed to take place everywhere. I wrote a song that says maybe I can’t stop it from happening but I will not be a part of it, I will put my hands up, spread kindness, and always choose love hoping others will do the same.” Baker's soft vocals float along a gentle piano melody and the deeply layered orchestral style backdrop that you can already imagine being translated into a powerful live performance.
