A native of Portland now based in LA, Lizzy Land got her start early, through collaborations with notable acts like Mating Ritual, Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun and Paul Oakenfold. She effortlessly built her singer/songwriter reputation with earnest lyrical content and easy-going melodies and hooks. On her latest release "Messed Up" she gives a personal look into her common anxieties.
With an easiness in the production, Lizzy gets playful while uncovering some deeper truths about not feeling fully there. Lizzy Land takes on the co-direction of the official video alongside Nick Kova, mirroring the vocal verses of confronting self-doubt and embracing uniqueness. When sharing a bit about the music video, Lizzy adds, "[It] plays with my personal struggle with social anxiety and addresses the way we often worry about how we look and come off, instead of listening and being present. The mirror mask is a metaphor for both self-reflection and self-doubt. Part of the video was shot in a studio to remain introspective (almost like a space in someone’s mind). Then it shows the main character immersed in a social situation while seemingly getting along just fine, but the mask is always present." "Messed Up" comes alongside an announcement of more new music and debut EP slated for release this summer.
