Taking life's frustrations and turning them into inspiration, Liverpool-based trio Oya Paya are making waves with their explorative track "Fly".
The band says: "Fly is about being able to overcome the negative vibes that can surround anyone throughout their journey through the vacuum of time. On this journey, our inner ambitions of finding peace become difficult with obstacles such as "the man", "the taxman" and of course "slenderman" weighing heavily on whatever the outcome may be. If we told that little voice inside our heads to Fly away, life would certainly be a little less stressful."
Recorded and mixed between the UK and Singapore, "Fly" blends indie-rock with hip-hop scratches and pop intricacies. Working to a strict DIY ethos, the band are creatively seductive, mixing different segments in just under 5 minutes, the band take you on an enigmatic journey.
Defining DIY can be difficult at times, but Oya Paya made everything in their bedrooms, including the artwork and visuals. This is a band who truly define what it is to be DIY. Their ambitious nature and overcoming of intrusive obstacles are inspiring and wholeheartedly incredible. Get these boys on your radar ASAP.
