If you're Swedish, then you most likely have heard of Fred Daniels (aka Fredrick Danielson), a successful singer-songwriter who has been making pop waves all over his native Sweden. But if you're not Swedish, we think it's time that you heard of Fred Daniels.
And what better way to get introduced than to get right down to the dirty talk. No dinner or drinks required. Fred describes his sophomore single "Wetlands" as "an anthem for oral sex. I wrote it cause I felt like there was a lack of them- at least from my perspective!" And ladies, perhaps he's right. While Cardi B and other strong female artists are pioneering the conversation, it would be nice to know that men on the other side are agreeing.
The video doesn't leave much to interpretation- it's a blatant display of wetness. Literally. And just as the chorus claims that he "doesn't want to come back up to dry land", you won't see any instance of the singer being dry during the entirety of the video. But to hell with subtlety. In today's age where it's acceptable, even encouraged to be outspoken and downright honest about human complexities and relationships, there are no rules.
So add this catchy, Scandinavian synth-laden pop banger to your "love night" playlist, and spread the wet vibes around. You can thank me later.
