Whethan shares his favorite tunes ahead of CRSSD performance [Exclusive Playlist]

With his quirkily endearing aesthetic and ability to crank out electronic crossover hits, Whethan has become an inexorable force in the contemporary music scene. Earworm after earworm, he has produced his way to mainstream pop relevance while maintaining a strong presence in the festival circuit, which is a difficult task considering the genteel nature of the former and the boisterous qualities of the latter. He has a number of high-profile shows lined up for 2019, including EDC Mexico and multiple dates with Zedd, but one sweet performance sticks out like a fly on a wedding cake: his upcoming set at CRSSD.

Ahead of CRSSD, Whethan provided a playlist of his favorite tunes at the moment, which you can check out above. More likely to cause goosebumps than Jersey Shore fist-pumping, it features an eclectic mix of hip-hop, indie, synthpop, and more, traversing the genre spectrum with tracks from A$AP Rocky, Tom Misch, Louis The Child, Neon Indian and Toro y Moi, among others. Fans will also be thrilled to hear that he has some tricks up his sleeve for the fest, which he confirmed in an exclusive quote to EARMILK:

These are all tracks that I listen to religiously as well as a few of my own sprinkled in. Super excited to play CRSSD and be able to play out my new set!

CRSSD has become one of the premiere West Coast music festivals due to its idyllic setting and its knack for bringing underground house and techno music to the mainstage. The 2018 iteration did just that, featuring Claptone, John Digweed, Elderbrook, Yotto and many more. The 2019 event will showcase usual house suspects Lane 8, The Martinez Brothers and Armand van Helden, among others, in addition to future bass titans ODESZA, Petit Biscuit and Whethan.
