Chicago alternative rap artist Lucki returns with highly anticipated FreeWave 3. The debut video from the project is the intro track "Politics," directed by Lonewolf.
Video director Lonewolf and Lucki are frequent collaborators. They worked on earlier videos together such as "SwitchLanes" and "4 everybody." Lonewolf's sporadic yet symmetric editing style coincides with Lucki's muddy flow, druggy subject matter, and hi-hat heavy beat selection.
The nighttime setting and use of smoke and mirrors represent the duality of Lucki's personality. "Politics" showcases Lucki's reluctant spirit for suffering from addiction and wearing his feelings on his sleeves. However, Lucki states he doesn't need music industry politics because of his fans like him for being himself. This type of honesty in Lucki's music is what draws in supporters since his initial debut in 2013. Listen to "Politics" and the full FreeWave 3 project on Spotify.
