Producer, singer-songwriter and DJ Ray Sargent has made his debut into ambient electronica with his debut EP Wait For You via Thru The Nit3 Records. A beautiful compilation of alluringly simple tracks, Wait For You showcases his dance-influenced production style with soothing ease and an air of exquisite atmospheric fillers. Now, Sargent has exclusively shared with us the official visuals for titular track "Wait For You".
Characterized by a deeply satisfying bass line and soulful, rolling melodies, the atmospheric house cut is laden with heavy emotions, sung by Sargent himself. The meld of downtempo electronica, exuberant synths and subtle twinges of organic instrumentals, is a beautiful and lush construction both genre-bending and familiar. Matching the almost ethereal soundscape, the video portrays a difficult but ultimately optimistic love story, with actress Maria Crittell starring alongside Sargent – shot on a summer night in London earlier this year.
Truly, the visuals are a deeply personal tie-in for Sargent. "Wait For You EP is an amalgamation of the past year of my life, socially and musically," Sargent notes. "The songs are based on girls I have dated, or have had encounters with, or fallen in unrequited love with."
