It takes two to be in a relationship. For producer Dylan Emmet and singer-songwriter Constance, the duo have come together for a beautiful musical partnership. With a gut-wrenching melody excruciatingly emotive and ethereal, "Memory" shares a deeply intimate and genuinely authentic portrayal of love, stemming from their personal experiences.
Laden with gentle piano chords, their duet is a visceral narrative of wistfulness, tugging at heartstrings with each and every atmospheric hum. Made up of Emmet's robust vocals and Constance's airy croons, "Memory" illuminates the raw intensity of the emotional lyricism, an alluring sonic construction that encapsulates the peaking feelings they both share – and we, relate to.
"Memory" came to be when Emmet and Constance met during Constance's show in LA; it was then, that they spontaneously wrote together for the first time. "It was immediately obvious that we had a special chemistry. When I got back to to New York, we decided to make it a real partnership and continue working together over video chat," Emmet shares. ""Memory" is the first of these collaborations we’re putting out in the world; it's about the inner dialogue we all go through during a breakup. There’s these moments when it feels like the other person has immediately forgotten who you are. Often times we create this story in our head that our ex is fine and has moved on. The truth is, we really have no clue how the other person is feeling. With "Memory", we wanted to capture the disconnect and how we forget to take the good memories with the heartbreak."
