in 2018, the South Korean hip-hop scene is as wide and expansive as ever with the increasing popularity of global acts such as Keith Ape, Okasian, JayAllDay, Dumbfoundead, and CL fully crossing over to foreign markets thanks to new media platforms such as 88 Rising. Striving to not get lost in the fray are experimental hip-hop duo XXX, comprised of rapper Kim Ximya and producer FRNK, who have been crafting a singular blend of rap laced with left-field electronic elements since 2016.
Following up last year's string of immersive singles, the duo has returned with a follow up entitled "Just Like"off of their upcoming debut album Language. The track is an industrial sound-experiment that showcases both of the duo's strengths as Kim traverses FRNK's frantic soundscapes with lyrical precision, switching back and forth between Korean and English with a cadence reminiscent of a 90's Eminem. Needless to say this might be their best work yet and definitely has us excited for whatever they have in store in 2019!
