New Zealand-born Saski has dropped her new single “Set Fire”, and I’ve already listened to it five times in the span of one morning. It begins with a slower tempo, introducing Saski’s intoxicating voice. It picks up quickly, with a mesmerizing beat as she croons the open-ended question: “if I set fire to it all?”
Now based in San Francisco, Saski is an independent artist, paving her way in the music industry with no label, manager, or agent. Her first single “Faking Bright” picked up over five million plays on Spotify. Venturing forth into the world of music solo is all the more encouraging to Saski:
“I love to show people how they can pursue their passions and follow their own path to their success and dreams. The “Set Fire” music video was produced, directed and edited by myself, which has been so empowering”.
The music video encompasses the song beautifully. It gives me major camcorder nostalgia, and makes me crave travelling to far away places. It's safe to say "Set Fire" is at the top of my October playlist.
