Encompassing all things dark, hellish and heavy, Slovenian techno king UMEK has crafted an out of this world three tracker via dutch techno imprint, Filth On Acid. The EP, aptly titled Hell Archetypes, is a relentless journey through menacing basslines and rolling techno rumbles – making for a collection of serious warehouse music.
Opening the EP is the title track and EARMILK's exclusive premiere, "Hell Archetypes". It's truly a takeover number – seven minutes of fierce and fervent bassline are combined with airy hi-hats to really bring vehement momentum to any dancefloor. "Specific Flavours" follows up the intense beginnings of UMEK's other worldy journey, creating a haunting atmosphere with another 8 minutes of churning synth and claps adding to the already urgent sounding package. The EP closes with the shortest but no less impressive "Slightly Larger Than You". Combining industrial textures with driving and building synths, "Slightly Larger Than You" adds a glimmer of hope to the Herculean picture UMEK has painted.
UMEK's Hell Archetypes is out 19th October via Filth On Acid and available to purchase here.
