Thandii puts her own spin on disco in "Another One" [Premiere]

British synth-pop darling Thandii contributes her own work to the disco revival in this latest music video for "Another One."

The track itself is rich and full, with an ethereal vocal and a dreamy, lazy beat. It's disco 2.0; there's a modern pop spin to "Another One," even as it sounds as though you could have plucked it straight from the seventies. Of the track, Thandii says:

The song is about infatuation or addiction, particularly between people. I wanted to explore that moment when a person has succumb to the influence of another, and it has a powerful effect on them, but they’re completely unaware of it - or maybe they are aware of it but don’t want to accept it’s change on them. I’ve been caught off guard like that before.

The music video is an exercise in time travel. We see Thandii dressed in a '70s themed wardrobe, roller skating and dancing on a pier. According to Thandii, aptly-named video director Tom Dream created a "wandering, slightly disoriented, dazed and confused cruise through different situations" to match the dream-like undertone of the lyrics. Excuse me while I go purchase a pair of roller skates and a jumpsuit in order to dance to "Another One."
