Summer may be coming to an end, and that means we're finally able to get our hands on some of the anthems that provided the soundtrack to our dancefloors around the world the last few months. It's easy to imagine this latest Matthias Meyer & Ryan Davis track on a beach at sunrise/sunset, as the melodic, uplifting atmosphere and sounds of waves crashing combine with a beautiful chord progression. The end result is a truly masterful, full-on dreamscape. The simple bassline and 4/4 percussion may be the foundation but where it goes from there is anything but predictable.
Aptly titled "Love Letters From Sicily", the stunning original is joined by a remix on the EP of last year's collaboration between the Matthias and Ryan, titled "Hope", which gets a monster treatment from none other than John Digweed and Nick Muir. The release is out September 17th on Watergate Records, and be sure to catch Matthias Meyer as heads out on his North American tour with stops at Public Works in San Francisco, Output in New York, and Stereo in Montreal.
