Xperience fuses classic soul and modern hip-hop in latest EP 'PISCEAN'

Seattle soul and hip-hop emcee and vocalist Xperience aka XP is back with what should be a contender for an album of the year with 'PISCEAN'.

The 9 track project is a brilliant blend of soul, funk, and hip-hop. Fusing together live rhythmic sounds with story telling lyrics, it's clear XP is a seasoned artist who took a page from greats such as Prince. Alright, maybe not directly but he sure has elements that remind listeners of neo-soul legends such as D'Angelo, Maxwell and more. His commanding vocal style carries an undeniable charm accompanied by live instruments and hard hitting drum beats that drive straight through your chest.

This album caters to all music lovers with its boisterous musical arrangements and overarching themes. The opening track "Gumbo" sets the pace with a rollicking rhythm and engulfing bassline. "Gawtdang" has a more downtempo trap vibes with a high energy, passionate performance. With "Champions" we find a more of a sunny afternoon drive vibe where XP jumps back and forth with melodic flows and fast-paced rapping. The album has guest appearances from Ghostnote & Macklemore who both appear on the track "Pretty Bitch". But besides that, XP truly holds it down from start to finish. This record is a true work of soulful hip-hop art that you can just lave on repeat. Get the project on Spotify and iTunes.

Fun fact: XP worked with Grammy award winner Macklemore on “Hold Your Head Up,” “As Soon As I Wake Up,” and “Good For You” off Macklemore's 2005 The Language of My World.
