The latest track 'Backstroke' from band Dizzy is an enticing prelude to what is to come from the Oshawa, Ontario band. Their upcoming debut EP Baby Teeth makes waves August 17th. Made up of three brothers Charlie, Mackenzie, and Alex Spencer and friend Katie Munshaw, the Canadian band navigates the throws of summer romance, using an infectious dream-like sound forcing you to hit repeat.
'Backstroke' feels like floating through the blues of summer, mulling over unrequited love and the sinking feeling that comes with it.
Dizzy pens a soulfully dark piece. According to them, waiting for love is akin to a slow drowning. Like previous tracks 'Swim' and 'Joshua', Munshaw's clear, angelic voice narrates a balance of melancholy lyrics and an upbeat rhythm. This soft-spoken tune is the age old teenage love story that will resonate with any summer soundtrack.
Catch them live September 2 in Hamilton, Ontario. More upcoming live dates can be found on their social media pages and website.
