UK Afrobeats musician Nizzy teams up with newcomer Pvpi Strz on the groovy mellow jam "Rice & Peas."
Nizzy has been on the grind for a while now and this video is his latest output since he put out his Dreamin’ In Colour EP last summer. The afro-pop jam sees Nizzy teaming up with UK producer Dr. Ish who crafts a laid-back soothing backdrop as the London-based crooner delivers an infectious slow-building summer jam with some verbal assistance from budding act Pvpi Strz. Known for his genre-fluid tracks, this new single is excellently held together by glorious Afroswing and Dancehall sensibilities, and captures Nizzy’s blend of West African and Caribbean styles.
The visual, which was directed by Marika Godwin, was shot on location in Gillingham and the ever-vibrant Shoreditch. The visuals capture the very essence of the Afrobashment love song, with Nizzy serenading his leading lady, and Pvpi Strz paying homage to black beauty.
