Deca's 'Flux' gives new meaning to beat poetry [Premiere]

Nothing like some good ol' boom-bap to get your weekend up-and-at-'em. That's precisely what NYC-based producer/spitter Deca is bringing to The Milker today, in the form of Flux, a 17-track smorgasbord of scrumptious beats with a garnish of bars sprinkled in.

The beats on Flux are no joke. In fact, once you pop it in the proverbial deck, you'll be sonically fiendin' once the first instrumental, "Threshold," hits your eardrums. But this project isn't merely a random assortment of blap; Deca strategically arranged each joint, throwing in some old-school intergalactic TV clips to create a sense of continuity throughout.

If this is your first time bumping Deca's music, tracks 1-13 will make you think he's only sick on the boards. But, low and behold, this dude's pen game is arguably more nasty than his beats. If intricate lyrical tapestries like "Skyward" don't cause third-degree bar-gasms, one gander at his older slaps will do the trick. Try on "Breadcrumbs" for size, Deca's single that's nearing two million streams on Spotify:

Overall, Flux is a certified banger from front to back, a record you can have in rotation for any occasion or mood. There's a reason Deca's tunes resonate with folks from all over the globe, and have even inspired theatrical productions: his sound is singular and a treat for beat heads and purist hip hop fans alike. Show this cat some love by copping or streaming Flux on all major platforms, and peep out his entire catalog via Spotify.
