The duo of emcee Aliano & producer Jakk Wonders delivers "When I First Heard Nas", in the 90s styled homage to Nasir Jones.
While many have paid homage to the legendary Queensbridge emcee on songs in various ways, Aliano's approach, however, takes a different turn. Over a laid-back but hard-hitting backdrop crafted by South African producer Jakk Wonders, Aliano details the first time he heard Nas. He really takes the listener back in time when Nas still had the Nasty as a prefix in his name. The flow is precise and the lyrics are quite graphic too with references to Nas's numerous accolades and songs which eventually lit the fire in Aliano himself.
The duo of Aliano & Jakk Wonders comprises of the classic Hip-Hop formula of an emcee and a producer derived from the likes of Gang Starr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Kool G Rap & DJ Polo and the like. Aliano, hailing from Los Angeles provides the bars with substance and a noteworthy flow while Jakk Wonders, from South Africa, gets busy on the boards delivering a gutter infused audio-canvas for the Pomona vet to spread his knowledge on the mic.
