Austin-based artist Dossey has released her bubblegum (and very sparkly) electro-pop gem "Heartbeats" exclusively on our site today. The track is a musical infusion of everything that made you feel good about the '80s, with enough modern elements to keep it in the moment and what's now in the music industry.
The alter-ego of Sarah Dossey, who is a banjo playing member of the Austin-based folk and bluegrass trio Indian & the Jones, delivers a beautiful showcase from a budding pop starlet who has funneled her New Americana sound through richly textured '80s tinged synth wave.
"With heartbeats, I wanted to create a song that automatically, within the first couple of bars would put a smile on your face and make you want to dance," Dossey said of the song. "I was so excited to have finally written a happy, upbeat love song that I just had to make it fun and energetic, the way a first love, or in the case of this song, a long-lasting love, can make you feel."
