Known for poetically weaving together an eclectic variation of sounds to produce hard-hitting dance tracks, Mija is back with a new single featuring a little free-form jazz. Her latest drum-n-bass banger "Talk" is the first original since her breakout EP, How To Measure The Distance Between Lovers. Hit play below:
When discussing the idea behind this track, Mija shared, "a simulated world, controlled by our collective conscious; and being completely oblivious." Similar to her previous track, "Notice Me," we're once again treated to vocal samples provided by Mija herself but, this time, backed by some fast hitting kicks that feel like they were taken straight out of the film Whiplash. A few rolling bass segments, some silky smooth synth work and this is track is fire! Of course, there's still some added quirky distorted Mija flavor in there for fans to enjoy as well. This track is sharp, creative and a showcase of Mija's ability to continue pulling influences from a wide spectrum of different styles of music.
Mija will also be performing at Movement Festival in Detroit on May 28 and at Output's Rooftop on June 1.
