Rising singer Laii (LΛii) serves a nice slice of soulful R&B in her latest record "Dreaming".
The passionate Toronto based singer is always hands-on with her music, producing this latest record alongside FRNKNSTYN. The duo craft a smooth, dreamy R&B backdrop laced with hip-hop sensibilities. The record reflects on the mixture of emotions felt when life gives you opportunities that seem too good to be true. Armed with an angelic and commanding vocal style, Laii brings a much-needed freshness to the genre with her positive vibes and matured performance.
"Dreaming" is actually the last song off her forthcoming 6 track debut EP Blasé. The EP explores the effects of being disillusioned with reality. Listeners can relate to the shortlived thrill of success and relationships being quickly replaced by disappointment, fear, or anxiety. Blasé will be released on May 22nd. In her other musical endeavors, Laii has done background vocals for notable Toronto artists such as Moël and Conor Gains.
Laii will be performing on Sunday, May 27th at Burdock Music Hall for the release of Blasé.
