sober rob's hyper-futuristic sound design has been turning heads at EARMILK for some time now. The classically trained musician and beat maker links up with his "Moving On" collaborator Karra on another emotional masterpiece in "Supermoon," out today on Lowly Palace. A slow, future R&B tempo provides the perfect backbone for the Rob's inventive sound design to take flight. For those of us who can't get "Moving On" off repeat, Karra's familiar topline provides a sense of security, well matched with the seemingly romantic lyrics. However the metaphoric concept of a "Supermoon" ("I owe it all to you") could represent any magnetic object from which strength is drawn. Kudos to these rising talents on crafting a track with such emotional depth. I look forward to seeing sober rob's name on more festival lineups and touring bills as he continues to develop as a performer and musician. To the stars!
