On his latest track, “Shook” Antix shreds the minimal, horn-heavy beat to pieces as he talks about his perseverance in life and in the rap game. Feeling out of place in the UK hip-hop scene, Antix packed up and headed West to the sunny shores of Los Angeles to establish his career. Since then, he’s racked up impressive streaming numbers and built himself a loyal fan following. “I was always trying to be ‘accepted’ by some scene, until I realised that the fans are all that matter. People message me now and tell me my music saved their life, helped them with depression, things like that. You soon realise how important that is…" says Antix about his move.
If “Shook” is any indication, the move worked out in the artist’s favor. From start to finish, Antix is relentless in his delivery. “Well I think I touched on it. I’m Antix, the ultra shifter, the splitter of tectonics.” Aside from the verbal barrage of visceral bars, “Shook” seems to be a metaphor for Antix’s career determination.
