Guess Genes is the project of Houston's Sergio Trevino. Together, Trevino and DeMaster have crafted the lovely, and effortless "Lilly Vine". The song seeks conversation with the listener, opening a story into Trevino’s life. Meanwhile, DeMaster’s production aims for immediacy, drawing listeners in, and commanding their attention. As a result, the Guess Genes collaboration is emotive, and evocative. Trevino’s earnest narration weaves its way through DeMaster’s sound design, as two disparate halves that somehow wouldn’t make any sense without each other. The writing style is both playful and profound.
